Rock Concert Madness & a less than adequate camera....

Well it seems I'm on this concert kick lately....Britney Spears in September, Shinedown a week ago, Rob Zombie mid November and Breaking Benjamin in San Antonio for my birthday. I brought along my mini digital elph (they don't allow "big girl" cameras into venues) to the Shinedown show at Verizon Wireless last week thinking I'd just try to grab a few shots of the band and then spend the rest of the evening rockin' out to the music. Well once I clicked the shutter button the madness ensued. Like a junkie, I couldn't stop taking pictures. Then I found it a challenge to get the "perfect" shot, tough to do with a little point and shoot, and then continued to attempt to get a shot of the elusive guitarist. In my frustration with my less than adequate camera I decided to purchase a more advanced point and shoot for the sole purpose of taking it into concerts and getting band photographs. So needless to say I will be in a full photo frenzy at the show on the 11th. I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite shots from the concert. They are by no means "professional" as I did the best I could with what I had to work with. I'm looking forward to the challenges and results from the next event and most of all to sharing those with you :0)

Enjoy!

p.s. as expected, this concert ROCKED! We were about 6 feet from the stage!

The beautiful Kristen :0)

This young lady is graduating from UL Lafayette this semester and so she drove in from Louisiana to have some college grad pictures taken. She was breathtaking infront of the camera and had a personality to match. She brought her cousin along for the fun and we had a great deal of laughs....not to mention she made a fantabulous assistant!!!

Kristen,

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for working with me. You were amazing to photograph!!!

Amber

Here are a few from our time...just a sneek peek :0)

My Crazy B! ~ Houston Portrait Photographer

I took these photos a couple of months ago but with the whirlwind that has been my life lately I totally forgot to post them....sheesh! But today as I was organizing all my client files I came across them again :0) This beautiful young lady is a very dear friend of mine and from time to time when I'm in need of a good laugh and some creative inspiration she's my go-to girl. She was kind enough on this particular morning to let me snap some photos of her. She had a lollipop she'd been dying to take photos with, not to mention her mom's super cool collection of vintage cameras we put to use :0) *drool* Her facial expressions crack me up and my trigger finger was in a frenzy trying to catch them as quickly as they changed! Here are some of my faves and there are some others not shown here over on the website in the Individual gallery.

Bethany,
I love you dearly my kind-hearted, sincere, generous and beautiful friend!!!! Your friendship has been a blessing from God and my saving grace when I've had doubts. I am grateful for that first year of sculpture....without it my life wouldn't be as complete as it is now!!! Love you boo! I look forward to many more Austin roadtrips with you and PS parties (you need to learn to "work" during those parties...they're not as much fun when I'm alone :0P)!!! Besides, where else can you get such amazing queso!!!???

xoxo!

love,
Amber

Quick Photo before the rain ruined our day ~ Houston Children's Photographer

This past Saturday me and my munchkins had a Chick-Fil-A lunch date and an impromptu photoshoot. We drove over to a friend's shop who is always so kind in letting me use his property and I got the kids unloaded, equipment ready, snapped a few shots and then...... blamm-o, the rain came down. I was bummed, they were bummed and the rain just kept on comin'. So needless to say I was only able to get a couple of photos before the downpour but this particular one stood out. I love my beebees with all my heart and when they think no one else is looking they love eachother too :0)
