Kindergarten Graduate!

It's the season for graduations and this young lady recently graduated Kindergarten and will be a big girl 1st grader next year!!! Katelyn, her mommy and I had a great time and this little girl is a natural infront of the camera. I usually worry that it will take a kiddo some time to warm up to me so I can catch some shots of them not clinging to mom or dad's legs....but this little angel was all smiles and poses!

Congrats on your graduation Katelyn!!! I hope you got to go swimming after our time together!
Here are some of my faves from our session.

Enjoy!

Ferhan & Madeeha

I just want to start this post off by saying that these two BEAUTIFUL people were absolutely AMAZING to work with!!!!!! Their chemistry is unbelievable and their love for one another is infectious! I met Madeeha and Ferhan for the first time the day of our shoot and I was in awe at their smiles and eagerness to have fun with our time. I later confessed to Madeeha that I had snuck off and called my hubby to tell him how amazing and fun these two were....I was in photoshoot heaven. You may recognize the wall from the "chester cheetah" photos I posted a few weeks back that a previous client had found for me and I was just chompin' at the bit for the first couple that would be on board for some good times here...and they were game!!! Lucky for us there was an abandoned shopping cart nearby and the beautiful park with the trees across the street that just made this session sensational.....or in Madeeha's words "spectacular!" You rock girl!!! I hope we'll be working together in October.

One of the locations they chose had sentimental value, being the site of their first date, we mosied on over to Discovery Green Park. And what does a girl do to show a guy what a shoe-a-holic she is on their first date?.......why she buys a red pair of high heels of course, so it seemed only appropriate to photograph these gorgeous, first date shoes as well :0) (It's now one of my top 5 photos ever!)

Here is just a taste of what I captured that day. If I had it my way, I'd post all the photos, but that would take just shy of FOREVER!!! To check out all the goods, go to the "almost famous" section of the wedding site.

Enjoy!

To Madeeha & Ferhan:
You guys were such a blast! Thanks for the opportunity. You two are beautiful spirits with a fantastic love for one another!!!! You are truly blessed in your love!!

Mommy Got Her BFA :0)

Last weekend was my graduation for my undergrad in Applied Design & Visual Arts. It was a very emotional and exciting day for a lot of reasons. Emotional because maintaining the balance between entrepreneur, mother, wife and student was a fine line that often left me praying for sleep at night. As tough as it was to get through those last two semesters the look on my husband's face the first moment he saw me as we walked out of the holding area to the arena made all the sacrifice we'd made worth while. He has been my rock and has kept me focused on the prize, even when I thought about backing down. He is more blessing than I ever thought possible :0) It is a tremendous personal satisfaction to achieve something so grand and to earn a degree that you've fought so long and hard for. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about just giving in and working solely on the future of my business, but the bottom line was not only did mommy need to show her children how important it is to get an education, but that you can do it no matter how tough it may seem and how busy your life may be....but I also needed to do this for me. I decided to stay home after having my son to give him one-on-one attention that I knew he wouldn't get anywhere else. But in doing this I lost a little part of me that had meant so much....the worker bee! I LOVE to work! A paycheck is oh so gratifying, but I knew I had to make a sacrifice....so naturally school became another "job" that I worked hard at and gave 110%. And I'm not ashamed to say that despite the hard days I LOVED what I did everyday! I made 2 AMAZING friends over in our little world known as the Arbor building and they will surely be life-long friends.

To everyone who stood by me and helped me get to where I am today I thank you. You are a gift, and for you I am grateful! The thought of grad school has crossed my mind and I'm at a crossroads now trying to decide if this is infact the best thing for my future and the future of Zasey Photography. I guess only time will tell if I choose to further my education.....stay tuned 'til August of this year to see...... :0)

Here's just a couple of snap shots from that night. (This is Andy trying to work his photography skills. hahahaha) Love you babe!

Meet the Faselers!

Phil & Erin's wedding was last month on the day we had all that flooding (my assistant's car was under water infront of my house, btw) and so we drove out to Conroe in the lovely rain to photograph this crazy group in action. Former Tech alums and grads from Texas South College of Law it was like a big frat party meets wedding, meets one hell of a good time :0) Well after having to put off editing until school was wrapped up (thanks again Erin for your understanding and patience, you're the GREATEST) the photos are FINALLY done!!! Here are a few and the rest are on the site in the featured gallery section if you want to see some more.

Phil & Erin:
It was a tremendous priviledge to photograph your wedding day. You are a great bunch of people with many wonderful friends and family who love and support you. Know that you also have a friend in me. I look forward to being there to photograph you when your babies are born and for all the other things in between. Lots of love to you guys and to many, many years of wedded bliss!!

Love,
Amber

Erin & Phillip decided to see each other before the ceremony. It is such a wonderful experience, not to mention an emotional one, to watch this. All the raw emotion, butterflies and anxiety just pours out. There wasn't a dry eye in the room!

Bug Shelves!

I'm finishing up my 2nd year of Advanced Sculpture tomorrow :0( and I decided to do a woodshop project and build shelves for my baby bug. The girl was in desparate need of some organization in her room so this was the perfect project!!

Here's the finished product! It's solid wood, 100% put together by yours truly, and painted and sanded to shabby chic-ness :0)

My husband says I need to build her a bed now......hmmmmm, sounds tempting ;0)

Yay Hawaii!

With one week left of school, and two weeks until graduation, I just realized that our trip to Hawaii is creeping up on us. I can't wait to soak up the sun, do some snorkeling and shoot some amazing photos!!!! It will be 4 glorious days in heaven! It will definitely be a welcome break from what has probably been the most demanding semester of my college career. I'm super excited to be finishing up my undergrad and taking a much needed hiatus from anything educational until this fall. My brain is on E and I seriously need a recharge, but fortunately I have a packed schedule full of photoshoots to keep me smiling :0)

Have a great day everybody. Enjoy and be thankful for this GLORIOUS weather!!!

Oh my! Look how many days we have left :0)

Family Fun with the McRays

Meet the beautiful McRay family. Their little man was extrememly shy at first, and I was warned by his momma that he may not warm up to me. Well after about 10 minutes of chit chat with the little guy I asked if he liked to fish....and that did the trick. We were instant friends!! Little Claire Bear was good for anything...I just fell in love with her chubby cheeks :0)

Shelby, hooray, the wind worked in our favor!! Haha

Here are some of my top faves from our time together. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you Shelby and Matt for letting me work for you, it was a tremendous honor!

We are Open for Business!!

The new wedding site is LIVE!!!!!!!! It went online last night around midnight and I couldn't be more excited about sharing my recent wedding ventures with you! The site is still in its early phases and I have an entire wedding that I shot a couple weeks ago that is still in production and is missing from the galleries, but there's still plenty for you to look at. I will be adding a bio section for myself and my assistant as well as more images from my most recent wedding over the next couple of weeks.

Let me know what you think!!!!

I also want to say thank you to all my friends and family who believed in me and pushed me to step out into this big world of weddings. Without your love and encouragement I don't think I would have ever had the courage to do it! I love you all very much!

Won't You Meet My Neighbor!

My FANTABULOUS neighbors asked me to take some long overdue family photos of them before baby #3 makes her debut this month. After a long commute next door and a few hundred photos later I think I have successfully captured this family in their true essence, in their own home, doing everyday things. It was fantastic to work for them and to photograph their love and interaction with one another.

Thanks Emily, Vince, Harper and Greer! I had a TERRIFIC time! You guys are the greatest neighbors!!! Love y'all!

Here are a few of my faves from our time together. I do have to say Harper has some of the most memorable and beautiful facial expressions I've ever captured with my camera. She makes me smile every time I look at these photos :0)

Enjoy!!
