Last weekend was my graduation for my undergrad in Applied Design & Visual Arts. It was a very emotional and exciting day for a lot of reasons. Emotional because maintaining the balance between entrepreneur, mother, wife and student was a fine line that often left me praying for sleep at night. As tough as it was to get through those last two semesters the look on my husband's face the first moment he saw me as we walked out of the holding area to the arena made all the sacrifice we'd made worth while. He has been my rock and has kept me focused on the prize, even when I thought about backing down. He is more blessing than I ever thought possible :0) It is a tremendous personal satisfaction to achieve something so grand and to earn a degree that you've fought so long and hard for. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about just giving in and working solely on the future of my business, but the bottom line was not only did mommy need to show her children how important it is to get an education, but that you can do it no matter how tough it may seem and how busy your life may be....but I also needed to do this for me. I decided to stay home after having my son to give him one-on-one attention that I knew he wouldn't get anywhere else. But in doing this I lost a little part of me that had meant so much....the worker bee! I LOVE to work! A paycheck is oh so gratifying, but I knew I had to make a sacrifice....so naturally school became another "job" that I worked hard at and gave 110%. And I'm not ashamed to say that despite the hard days I LOVED what I did everyday! I made 2 AMAZING friends over in our little world known as the Arbor building and they will surely be life-long friends.
To everyone who stood by me and helped me get to where I am today I thank you. You are a gift, and for you I am grateful! The thought of grad school has crossed my mind and I'm at a crossroads now trying to decide if this is infact the best thing for my future and the future of Zasey Photography. I guess only time will tell if I choose to further my education.....stay tuned 'til August of this year to see...... :0)
Here's just a couple of snap shots from that night. (This is Andy trying to work his photography skills. hahahaha) Love you babe!
